How to get a day pass to Aruba’s most iconic private island — where flamingos walk right up to your sunlounger.

Go to the official iDayPass portal
Book only at renaissancearuba.idaypass.com — the official booking system. Avoid third-party resellers.

On the day: go to the Renaissance Hotel dock
The Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort is at L.G. Smith Blvd 82, Oranjestad. Show your pass at the dock — the water taxi runs every 15 minutes from 7:00 AM to 6:45 PM for the 8–10 minute ride to the island.

Go early
Flamingos are most active and friendly in the morning. By midday they retreat to the shade and are harder to photograph.
Bring quarters
The flamingo feeding machines only accept Aruban or US quarters. Bring a handful from home — you can’t always get change on the island.
Pack reef-safe sunscreen
Regular sunscreen is harmful to the marine ecosystem. Reef-safe is required and the right thing to do on this pristine island.
Can’t get a pass? Stay at the hotel
Guests of Renaissance Wind Creek get unlimited free island access for their entire stay. For groups, a 1-night stay can be cheaper than multiple day passes.
Best photo spot
The flamingos are most photogenic wading at the shoreline in soft morning light. Approach slowly and calmly — they’re used to people but can be startled.
No tipping for boat access
You cannot bribe your way onto the water taxi. Only a valid day pass or active hotel room key will get you on board — no exceptions.
Stay at the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort
Hotel guests get unlimited free island access for their entire stay. Room rates start around $500/night — for a group, it can work out cheaper than multiple day passes. Book via the Renaissance/Marriott website.
